One of our real favorites and we are one of the only sources for it. Galax has wonderful, rounded shiny leaves and grows in slow expanding clumps. The foliage is 2 to 5 inches across and turns red to orange in winter. In late spring or early summer, foot long plus spikes of feathery flowers rise above the leaves. It does well in sun or light shade, in acid, peaty yet well drained soil. The soil must be right for this to do well. Natural acid woodsy to sandy soil is best; do no add compost or manure. It's a true gem and much in demand! Equal to or better than European Ginger in look.
