Everyone loves redbud. In early spring, this selection's rosy- lavender flowers unfurl all along its branches. Pea shaped blooms are nestled on arching, silvery stems. Charming, 3-6" heart-shaped leaves follow, with good yellow fall color. Upright, gracefully arching to 15 feet, by far one of the gentlest looking trees. Amazingly fast growing too. Redbuds like a bit of shade & soil that is not wet. If your soil is very acidic, add a little lime. Propagated from plants hardy in Wisconsin. Excellent in the mid-Atlantic, S. New England, South & Midwest. Important in the far North: Plant in full sun, so autumn sun bathes the plant.
